Abstract

The resolution of nearly one hundred and fifty alcohols and phenols are recorded in the literature. Practically every known method of resolution has been applied to these classes of substances and several methods of considerable utility have been developed. This chapter gives a description and evaluation of results obtained to date. A brief statement of the underlying principles and the main steps of the procedure for all the important methods of resolution are included.
